Porsche GB final comments on a Catalyst Failure at 26,000 miles ..a £1500.00 job (no goodwill forthcoming) 6 months and 1500 miles after Warranty job replaced failed Lambda Sensors free of charge (engine warning light had come on ) is " Lambda Sensors are NOT known to cause a Catalytic converter to fail. However a defective Catalytic converter can cause a false indication of a sensor failure . After replacement the Lambda Sensors need a period of time to adjust..hence the 1500 miles before the engine warning light came on again etc "

Surely faulty Lambda Sensors can and do often cause Catalyst failure..Would love any advice ..thanks

If a failed pre-Lamda causes the engine to run rich, it can damage the cat.

Thanks, any advice on if a Cat was damaged in this way, if 6 months and 1500 miles might be normal before it showing up
