Well said that man, two-strokes are cool!

deltic?
A Deltic has 3 crankshafts at the corners of a triangle, 36 cylinders and 72 pistons. It's a supercharged two-stroke diesel. The Mk 1 produced 1650bhp, then there were Mk 2 and 3 versions which more or less doubled that. It's used in locomotives and fast naval patrol boats. I'd like to make a trike with one, just for the crack.
Nutter.
Is this close enough.
Turn it up and wait for it to load!

Best normally aspirated: Honda RC211V V-5
Best turbo: toss-up between Nissan's RB26DETT and Toyota's 2JZ-GTE - mmm inline sixes
How about this for an straight six?...

Wish I still had her =(
Loath as I am to admit it, I think that the flat six in the 911's takes some beating, along with the straight sixes of BMW M3 and Tuscan/T350 for out and out power.
For versatility though, it's got to be either the Buick/Rover V8 that was originally designed in the 50's or the Rover K-series.

i dont think honda can be beaten, all round.
The Caterham JPEs Vauxhall XE based 2 litre is streets ahead of Honda S2000 lump. On Power, torque and reliability and responsiveness. Original Caterham HPC 1700 BDR also beat Honda to the first production 100 bhp/litre engine, made 170bhp from 1.7 litres, on carbs and without variable valve timing like the VTEC Honda in the CRX of the time (158bhp / 1.6 litres). How about the 2.5 and 2.8 Hart 420R 4 cylinder engines? BMW M12 also worth a mention.
But really, how come no-one has mentioned the Chysler Hemi? The Elephant is still the Daddy. Closely followed by the latest Big Block Chevys and new LS1/LS6/C5R Chevy. New Ford GT blown V8 isn't too shabby either. Ferrari V8s? Puny, too small capacity & unreliable, service costs more than a more powerful American V8, complete and delivered to your door!
Would make a good engine swap, 7litre C5R Chevy into F355 or 360 Modena!!
