shpub,

What was your overall opinion of the dta? Was it an m8pro? I'm wondering about one of these for myself. I think Stevie likes his unit.

Mike.

It's the ECU8 the M8Pro predecessor. I don't do the mapping - John Eales does that for me but it has been very reliable and the diagnostics is good. Very useful for identifying other problems with the installation.

Thank you, thus far I haven't heard a bad thing said about the M8Pro

In response to dax, it depends how much you have lowered the compresion by? at 9.75 with 8psi you are going to be running some pretty high cylinder pressures there! with that you should be up around the 350 to 400 ftib mark so i would keep the revs well below 6000, maybe boosted or stevie turbo can help me on this one they seem to be the turbo boys

Did I miss this? I ran my 4.5 (80 mm stroke)on 9.1:1 C/r by enlarging the combustion chambers to 39cc. It would hold 7psi long enough for me, hit 9psi on gear changes but it pinked at peak torque if you tried to use more the 7 psi boost. So 7 psi was it's limit with that engine on that c/r. I built a 5.1 as well using Buick 300 heads but again the c/r was around the 9:1 mark iirc. I also built a 5.4 for boosted use, 98mm stroke/94mm bore(kept the costs down) but sold it. The intention there was to use a redline of just over 5000 rpm and stick it into something light. Don't know what happened to it after it was sold.
