What to mix with petrol to guarantee engine death?
Discussion
If you do a Google for acetone in petrol it appears that people have been using it to increase mpg for a while. So I'm not sure this is quite the desired effect.
Bleach in petrol will cause poor running but rusty petrol tank in the morning, according to Myth Busters
Bleach in oil will cause engine failure, according to Myth Busters.
Bleach would seem to be the "best" option so far.

Acitone causes so much heat at the crown of the piston, I burns a hole right through. My mate had it in his 80cc Racing Motorcycle and that is what happened.

Probably an urban myth but yeast is supposed to continue to grow requiring the whole fuel system to be replaced. Personally I doubt if yeast would live in petrol.
If it were me I would try water. Cheap innocuous and easy.
plus you could get away if the law got involved. "I'm very sorry, i just topped the tank up. Didn't realise there was WATER in there officer!" lolIf it were me I would try water. Cheap innocuous and easy.
I used to have a Jag XJ6 that would get water in it's fuel tanks.
Luckily there was a drain plug on the tanks. Water is heavier than petrol and just sinks to the bottom doing very little. It also ends up in the float chamber of the carbs, a good thrashing soon clears out the water with no ill effects.

Yes but think of the fun they'll have taking all the time to surreptitiously syphon and decant water time after time, only to be let down by their car when its down to running on vapours. Suppose for a little added vengeance you could always add a little yeast and sugar to the water lolLuckily there was a drain plug on the tanks. You don't need acetone to burn a hole in the piston of a two stroke, it's very easy (too easy) to do this with a weak mixture or incorrect ignition timing. My mate had it in his 80cc Racing Motorcycle and that is what happened.
bleech only works if its pored in the engine and mixed with the oil (that is what they done on myth busters to kill the engine as no matter what they put in the tank the engine kept going),
the only thing i know what works is water mixed with fuel really hard to detect and stills smells like fuel but once in the fuel system engine will just splutter and cut out,
hope this helps.

Yes, but to no ill effect... "Oh dear lads, the cars conked out... Lets go nick some more fuel..."the only thing i know what works is water mixed with fuel really hard to detect and stills smells like fuel but once in the fuel system engine will just splutter and cut out,

as opposed to:
- ignition* KABOOOOM!! - "Ahhh, bugger lads... I think it's fooked... Anyone know a place we can steal some bicylces?..."

Personally - I cannot believe anyone on PH would really even suggest
this.
Just lock the fuel away - or stake out the place and hit the culprit with paintball guns
Or just tie a rottweiler to the filler cap of the tank! hey presto, no one wil steal the fuel any more. this.

By the way i would NOT do the above. Its not fair on the dog and its what has given the bread such a bad name! Plus they would probably steal the dog once the figured out how much it was worth!......
