Cylinder Head for a Sierra 1.8 CVH engine - where can I get
Discussion
Cylinder head on my kit car went last weekend annd it seems to be beyond repair. It's a Ford Sierra 1.8 CVH engine and apparantly Ford no longer list it as a spare part. Anyone know where I can get a good one quickly please?
Alternative is I change the engine for a 2 litre twin cam out of another Sierra but I don't really want to start messing about with engine mounts and ECU's and stuff since due to me working abroad, I've got to pay a garage to do the work. So ideally it's a new head for the 1.8 CVH. Anyone any ideas please?

i dont know of anywhere that you will be able to get a reconditioned head as theyre probably really hard to find, but it could be worth trying a scrappy or breakers yard for a cylinder head ?
or you could looking on somewhere like ebay for a car being broke for spares or even buy a cheap parts car ?
both of those options are a bit more of a risk over buying a reconditioned head, but it will be a lot cheaper and easier to find

Thanks chaps and yes you're right, hen's teeth seems to be a good phrase. E-mailed half a dozen specialists on Friday and not one's come back.
So I'm now leaning towards replacing the whole engine. Been offered a rusty Sierra with a 2.0 DOHC so thinking of solving the problem that way.
But thanks for your ideas chaps.
There must be someone somewhere that's bought Ford's old stock of old CVH heads for 2 shillings and sixpence halfpenny and would love to offload one for a fiver. But as with all these things, it's finding them that's the problem.
