Rev3 MR2 G Limited 3SGE unit out.

Rev3 MR2 Turbo 3SGTE unit in.

Apart from actually hoisting the thing up and getting it secured in the bay without any dramas and, what are the real headaches?

Wiring?

Gearbox?

Not really considering taking it on myself - Just wondering what the tricky bits are.

Shouldnt be too hard!
Same basic block and head but may have different intake manifold.
Not a problem if you have the donor engine to use for parts.
BTW, it most likely comes out from underneath complete with the box.......

It certainly does! Not hard to drop the engine and box though. Tricky bits will be wiring and some plumbing. You do know the driveshafts are different as well?(at least one of them is IIRC), and of course the exhaust is different. I've been told the stock 3SGE fuel pump is marginal for turbo use, so probably an idea to get an uprated Walbro unit whilst the works being done (does mean dropping the tank, but better now than later when a weak mixture has killed your pistons). Turbo suspension is also lower by around 25mm than N/A.

Yeah the fuel pumps are good for around 250bhp iirc much more than that and its trouble youre looking at.
Maybe an ST205 3sgte would fit the bill for sir?
