Or more specificaly Fuel Injection Solutions. Need something Easily mapable to replace LH-Jetronic, to much faffing about needed with signal modifiers etc. to get fueling right after changes.

Anyone got any ideas? Very Basic system required

-Force Inducted (Turbo) Application

-4 Cyl, Single Injector Per Cyl (although support for multiple could be handy in the future)

-Batch Fire

-Pref AMM although MAP would be okay

-Support for current Bosch Sensors (or near as), Coolant Temp, AMM, TPS(switched not variable resistor type)

Current LH setup runs from pre-set maps over 3000rpm/WOT so anythings an improvment really. Currently use a clockwork dizzy with adjustable vacuum cap (can change spring rate etc. to alter ignition curve). Not planning to go over to mapable ignition just yet although it would be handy for the next engine up the line.

Looked at DTA, okay but doesn't look like it would really support where I'm going. MBE, Top choice so far. MegaSquirt, Looks very good but no one seems to have used it in anger yet (anyone with first hand experience drop me a mail). Emerald, Engines not a K-Series. Pectel, When I win the lottery Any I've missed?

Cheers
Matt

Suggest a digifant 1 system from a g60 golf.
Has no airflow meter like the digifant 2 and can be mapped by companies such as jabbasport.
Supports turbo use and bosch sensors, has knock control too! and is easily wired.
Dont think you can program it yourself tho.
HTH.

Megasquirt has been run by a lot of guys in the States. I've read about their use on VWVortex, on VWs obviously. Could look into MoTec but its mega bucks for one of their super trick ones.

Curious as to what doesnt suit about DTA ? Im using the P8Pro on my twin turbo V8 and I cant fault it really.

For the money, when I was looking, I couldnt find anything as good value that offered so many features.

DTA maps on Throttle Angle. No good for me as I'll be retaining the Saab APC system which reduces boost on detonation, allows me to adjust the boost curve and drops boost when my L/C systems active. Hence having something that uses a secondary table to map boost and doesn't actualy measure it is no use as my boost curve doesn't remain a constant value, running 100 octane rather than 98 can see it holding 0.2bar for 600rpm longer.

Hi there,
Im running MegaSquirt, very pleased with it, sounds like it would run your setup OK, there are many Saabs running MS.
I'm amazed you say no ones running it in anger, its running the fastest 4 cylinder in the world at present, it's also in many racing engines, etc, etc. Im using it in mine to replace the lucas setup for my RV8, which is now supercharged.
As for cost, well £250-300 will get you running with a Wide BAnd lambda and tuneability is absolutely excellent, backup is second to none on the yahoo site.
Have a look at my site if you want any more details or give me a shout, dont know much about your specific setup though,
Phil

Should have been more specific no ones running it in anger on a Saab, I know of a couple of 9000's using it twined with the original Saab DI and a 900 in the UK that maybe using it a somepoint. Certainly going to look into it, nice site BTW.

Been looking around.

Its down to either Mega Squirt or an MBE 967 unit. The only advantage between the two is the EasiMap software that MBE Provide.

I'll see what prices I can get for the 967 on Tuesday and go from there.

Thanks all.

Matt,
totally biased here, as you know, but have you seen the MSLVV software and the MSTweek software for MS? MSTweek will use datalogs to get you a map thats at 14.7AFR, then simply select areas where you want the AFR to be different and hey presto, all done, except enrichments ofcourse. MSLVV shows the datalogs in a graph format, allowing you to step through them seeing everything as it happened. This is brilliant, I was using it today and have really found it invaluable to get my map vertually perfect. If you want some datalogs to see what its like let me know, the software is on the Yahoo site. Not trying to push you in any direction
I'll be quiet now, promise,
Phil

I'm running megasquirt on my 350 chevy, and can also vouch for it's performance.
Megatune and megatweak are really good bits of software - The support in the forums is really good also.

As ive mentioned in another post elsewhere. The DTA has had MAP as its main load table an option for some time now.

There is the option of either MAP based table, or the TPS + map compensation.
with the compensations, you can adjust both fuel and ign timing requirements dependant on boost.

Along the same lines I'm looking for something to run my BMW V12 with twin turbos..... I am not going to use any of the BMW loom except the sensors so I need the lot, Fuel, igniton etc..

At the moment I have been looking at Motec or Autronic but to be hounest both are way above my budget.

Andy,
I would recommend MS, but the only trouble you may have is idle control and or ignition control. Also some BMW's run fly by wire, etc, that isnt covered by MS, but I think ultra MS is, im not certain, but as far as I know it isnt available quite yet. Depends on how much control your original ECU has, but I have heard of someone doing a V12 BMW, may be worth asking on the yahoo site before getting too involved,

Some of the Autronics are well specced. But, I know a friend who used one on his Subaru, and had a lot of bother. Niggly stuff, but hassle all the same. He also dint check out the software before he bought it. He regretted it. He has got good results from his car, but with hindsight, he would have chose a different ecu I believe.
It is not the easiest software to use.

As for the V12, a lot of cheaper ecus wont run that many cylinders. The DTA P8Pro will.
The software is also very easy to use.

I think that without spending megabucks, you will need to revert to mechanical throttles, but I suspect you would be doing that anyway.
