Amazing Lurking!!

What are your thoughts on the car, they seem to get a bad name, as a day to day car is it decent/worth what you paid?

I never really owned a car worth delurking for before this one.

I don't get the bad press that it gets. I tend to disregard most of it though because its generally of the form that "it does this differently from X" which is kind of missing the point. As a daily its drivable, comfortable, and reasonably economic for a 400hp V6. The sound it makes in standard is good, when you hit the sport button and open the valves in the exhaust it is something else. Not sure the neighbours necessarily agree with that on a cold start though wink Here is a link to an early morning blast I had in it https://youtu.be/-1JzSfiopuw

Is it worth what I paid? That's difficult. I paid for a year old loaded ex-demo car with very few miles on the clock. I got a decent amount off the list price but it wasn't cheap. Its a bit of an indulgence and I'm willing to pay for. Running costs, over an above, fuel are ok. £200 a corner or so for tyres, and the services have all been the right side of £1k. I have had to replace the brake pads which wasn't cheap but I've done over 36,000 miles in under two years and it still puts a smile on my face. For that alone I'd say its worth it.

B
Thanks - can’t really say yet, as we’ve only had it a week. The drive home was memorable, but since then it has been rainy and muddy. It sounds amazing - google Intouchables Maserati for a preview.

Isn’t this the model James May used in a Top Gear £10k super car challenge(or was it Clarkson?).

Other way round, Clarkson had the Merak and May had the Urraco, which has since been repainted orange and the, er... 'faults' put right. Hammond had the yellow Dino 308GT4 wink
