I'm fancying one of these (or maybe a Panamera), as my next daily driver.

However, I live in West Yorkshire - the home of car crime. It seems every day at the minute there are new posts of pics and CCTV videos on various local community groups of Balaclava'd deadheads attempting or stealing cars. I don't want my door being smashed in just for the car keys so wouldn't want to risk it being outside.

I've got a single garage but no room to extend it and I don't want to move house either so I'm limited by the size of the garage.

I really like the look of the Ghibli, but I wondered if anyone has ever parked one in a standard new-build garage? More for length than width.

Garage: 4900 long x 2400 wide (approx)
Ghibli: 4971 long x 1945 wide.

Width is about the same as my current Camaro so not worried about that. Any thoughts on length if anyone has a similarly long (short!) garage? It seems touch-and-go looking at those numbers so hoping someone might have tried.

Thanks.

'touch and go' - its 71 cm longer?!

i could just about get my 5 series in (have a double garage but same difference as it was parked on one side). i had to put a sponge on the wall and tap the front nose into it and the door would just abut shut. The ghibli has a high fat rear end and i think you will really struggle. The doors are also fairly long and heavy so you will struggle to get out! the pillar less doors help but i wouldn't want to do it every day. There will also be a day when you get a bit too close...

what about just using a car cover?

Thanks guys,

The measurement of the garage is approximate, as I've done it myself so its prone to error - and 7cm could be that error margin. smile

Agree its tight - suppose the only way to find out is to try lol.

My Camaro is same width, but I can get that in and out fine now, but it is slightly shorter so it does fit. Also looking at extending the width slightly to make it easier, so its the length really thats the unknown.

A car cover is a good idea, thought about getting one with a Kia logo on it or something like that if I do get one as a bit of a deterrent perhaps?

There was no chance of getting my old one into my garage, too wide and long...

I had to have a tracker fitted, so was fairly relaxed about leaving it on the drive.

When I ordered mine, the salesman told me they were virtually never stolen, and any that were, had always been recovered?!
