The one car solution

With all that has gone on this year it has shown me that having multiple cars is sometimes a pain. Recently I have been having thoughts of a one car solution. It also removes the monthly payment of the family car as the 996 is paid for & would be used to fund the majority of the buy.
I have had Porsche's in my life for about 14 years now but the Panamara doesn't do anything for me & the Cayenne is a bit to family focused. The Indy I use is a Porsche/Maserati specialist so comfortable going Maserati & I am thinking a used Ghibli.
I am presuming the diesel is to be avoided & the petrol is the one to go for but as it is a auto have I got that correct or does the diesel work well with the auto box?

Excellent choice, love my petrol Ghibli. Beautiful to look at, a joy to drive in sport mode, and very practical. So a good replacement for a sporting GT, a family car with a decent boot, and an everyday (if a bit thirsty) commuting car. That’s 3 in 1 at least.
However, I have to be honest and say it’s no replacement for a weekend sports car or classic. eg I wouldn’t ever just take it for a drive at the weekend for the heck of it. It’s also quite large, so not my favourite car for going shopping where parking may be tight. Doesn’t have quite as much space as a big 4x4 has either. So you’ll still need at least 3 other cars.
That said, it really is a lovely car to own, and very versatile, so would highly recommend.

I am slightly biased, but I do love the Maserati Quattroporte. I just gained ownership of a beautiful silver on silver GTS, post here: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
Unfortunately it is a little limited by the lack of a big boot, but depending on your lifestyle commitments, you could add a tow bar and it would have no issue with pulling a caravan at 100mph plus
or perhaps ski rack / bike rack on the roof?
