MC20 - Anyone else submitted their spec this week?
Discussion
Nice review, agree with him on the steering and suspension I found it equally as good as what my 675LT was. I presume that his comments on the sound of the stereo was with the base option. The MC20 Coupe demo that I drove had the Sonus Faber upgrade which I thought sounded great with its 12 speakers.

I do agree that the options are overpriced. Looking at Urus Performante spec and price list this week and it makes the Maserati cost of carbon etc look even more silly, and Urus has carbon included in base cost that would probably cost 40k on a MC20.
I know how Masers can depreciate - I once bought a QP Sport that had lost 50% in 2 years, thought that was great, but it lost 50% of what I paid in next 2! But, this one has had a great reception, although low key, and if you resist the silly priced exterior carbon pack, you can easily get one well specced at 220-225k, which compares well to a 296GTB which is going to be high 200s at least. …

the CF pack is annoyingly expensive though and it's annoying that's kinda a must for resale

Good post by Footsoldier and an accurate analysis of the near future Supercar values. I'm guessing the 296GTB at nearly £250k without a single option box ticked which will be at least £300k for a decent saleable spec will fare much worse than the MC20 in depreciation.
the 'as tested price' on the 296 reviewed was £360,000 https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/ferrari/296-g...

Not so sure on the CF - it’s now £36k, (don’t know why you have to take all of it, inc bonnet that is pointless). I’ll bet that 36k depreciates 50% in next 2 years even if car doesn’t.the CF pack is annoyingly expensive though and it's annoying that's kinda a must for resale
I’d definitely be happier trying to get (eg) 195k for a 2yr old plastic car, than 230k for a carbon one if I’m taking a 30k hit. Carbon makes it easier to sell at a small premium, but doubt it’s the way to go if we’re talking cash benefit only.
£20-25k and I’d be in, but struggling to spend a GR Yaris on stuff 99% of people (inc the driver) won’t notice! Car is relative value at 225, getting toppy at 260 imv.
what puts me off is the 3.0 V6 when an F8 has a 3.9 V8...Just seems too small in such a car. I can accept a V6 with electric power giving it 700-800hp but a "mere 620hp" in this day and age just seems not enough. But each to their own - hope all of you who have one or ordered one really enjoy it.

MC20 wins ECOTY22 - everyone loved it, though it does have a bit of a weight problem as it was >200kg over the manufacturer's claims. Didn't hold it back in the performance stakes.
Looks good in blue too.
The way they describe it is very accurate, going by my test drive. The early reviews in Feb were all positive, and on winter tyres, more recent ones seem even better on proper rubber (as you would expect).Looks good in blue too.
My delivery date is moving around, prob due to parts availability, but is currently March.
I also did 9000 miles this year in the alfa GTA which has a very similar/same engine, and it is a brilliant thing. Not going to pretend it sounds like a high revving v8, but in terms of power delivery, smoothness and instant go, it is a better engine for road use.(and I didn't expect to think that!)

Following on from about 6 mths and the local dealer messing around, I put in an order - for a Cielo - with another dealer who I'd bought a Levante from. Just before Christmas I got a call to say that he'd expected it late summer time, but now it was going to be late May and could I confirm the spec! Managed to fortunately get this sorted as I pretty much knew what I wanted, so some 6mths from now apparently I'll be receiving it - one of the first ~5 deliveries of the Cielo into the UK.
And...then had to tell my Mrs about it. Which was awkward. Primarily as I'd said I wouldn't buy another car until the garage was built...the garage that I got planning rejected for first time around and therefore don't have anywhere to keep it!

I'll happily look after it for you until the garage is built. And...then had to tell my Mrs about it. Which was awkward. For that reason I have never paid a premium for a car with external carbon

Fwiw I've never really wanted carbon everywhere on my cars as I've thought I'm bound to scrape it at some point on a speed bump / crap road and I'll be upset at having to fork out loads of money to replace. If you have great roads around you and / or don't car about doing an insurance claim / XXk to replace happy days... but I'll daily my cars sometimes, take to ASDA etc and just normal driving rather than just planned drives, so there's always a risk normal driving events happen and having expensive external carbon get damaged would annoy me.

In the end, I managed to get factory to paint the external grey plastics in black, so passed on the carbon. For that reason I have never paid a premium for a car with external carbon
Also got one-off leather interior via the fuoriserie programme.
