Talk to me about these….

Mulling over an F10 M5 / E63and these keep winking at me.

I know less horses, but so much more style / class.

Owners / drivers views appreciated.

I've a 2014 Ghibli S.
Nothing but praise for it.
Fast, elegant, rare.
Sounds incredible.
I've owned since August and a new battery and wiper blades so far...

Fuel consumption isn't the best but who cares about that!

I could have bought a nice M3/5 or AMG merc when I bought the Gransport, but I suspect few people go to their grave thinking "I wish I'd bought a Merc instead of a Maserati".

I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

2017 on ones have a better infotainment set up and some of the bugs ironed out.

Didn’t have the S just a regular 2017 petrol. Fantastic car. Made lovely noise, enjoyable and comfortable to drive, classy looks and just generally makes you feel good. Also totally reliable and servicing not too expensive either as only every 2 years. Only sold it because it is larger than I need now, and sad to see it go.

Only criticism I can think if is that it is quite wide and if you do quite a lot of country roads it can be a bit hairy at times. Otherwise, a bit of a bargain I think, and a lot more distinctive than the usual Merc or BMW.

I have had a Masser GTS, loved it. Sure there are “better” cars, but it made me smile every time. Probably preferred it to the 996 TT I had before in many ways.

Also, TOTALLY reliable.

Any big weaknesses or service costs on the V6S?

The headlight washers fail and it’s a 2 grand job.

Check the silencers don’t rattle and switch on the sport button.

The S has the bigger brakes, so avoids the issues with the 4 pots.

There are plenty out there with over 100,000 miles on them, engine failures seem to be restricted to the very oldest cars at relatively low mileages.

That engine develops 350 after the 2016 model with the bigger sat nav screen.

I've driven about 4,000 miles in an S (actually two) over 9 days while driving across America.

I picked up a brand new car from Avis in Washington DC (just 250 miles run) and headed West. I did ask whether it needed any kind of 1,000 mile running in service, but they didn't seem bothered.

The car made it Phoenix before having a major hissy-fit so it was swapped for another (higher mileage) S at the airport which took me on to San Diego and then the canyons around LA. The second 'run in' car was definitely more fun and sounded epic (for a V6).

I found the car just as comfy as BMW and Merc (I was running a CLS500 at the time, having come out of a BMW 7), but the infotainment system was utterly dire.

We bought our Ghibli S in December. It's a 2016 car with loads of extras.

It's amazing. The seating position is sublime.

We love it.
Fuel consumption is fine. I use the economy button on the motorway and we get 30mpg with ease.

Our choices included the C63, M5, E63 but this was the best value for money of them all.

Had a V6S for a couple of years-great car both looks and sound. As said above get the touchscreen infotainment version (which is merely dated as opposed to prehistoric). Also get a set of winter wheels/tyres as the summers crab badly when turning in cold weather.

A lot of car for the money. Just don't monitor mpg if you do a lot of urban driving.
