I wonder if those white side repeaters will fit the Z28?

I've taken some ppl from work out for a spin today and they are all very impressed I think I scared the Impretza driver a bit

The engine sound is fantastic, especially with the application of suitable welly.

I'll post some more pics and maybe a video clip at the weekend.

I don't have the owners manual yet, so am not sure about all the various buttons and widgets. There is a menu system of some sorts that appears when the ignition is on (before the engine is started). Does anyone have a pointer to some online docs for this??

Hey Cubittus I went and had a "look" at your car before you picked it up - your mate has been talking to me on Scoobynet about it, don't worry we couldnt drive it as it was still wrapped up.

Anyway the engine sounded really sweet, however the exhaust note was a bit "ford fiesta" if you can excuse the pun and not really any different to the CV8 note.

The car looked the dogs danglies - you must be so chuffed, I just sold my Impreza last night so I'm on the verge of ordering a CV8 and then taking a trip to Linden for a S1 or S2 upgrade.

Very very nice car. I had a good look at the motor show and was suitably impressed. I know this won't appeal to those lucky few buying new, but I really hope (for my sake) the Vauxhall badge means a steep depreciation curve. That way, I might be able to afford one in about 5 years

I was trying to convince my missus that it'd make a fine family car (4 seats and a big boot). She's not convinced.....still, it'd be a lot more practical than my 300ZX

I just hope it's a success as it'll mean more choice for me in a few years. The world needs more "affordable" v8 brutes

Also, this is the first Vauxhall I've lusted after, ever I think. Perhaps my wife's Nova 1.3 SR put me off

Twin Turbo,
Great to know another non owner has joined the Monaro appreciation society. Don't fret mate, I can't afford one either so I lust after them just like you,and have done since they first appearded sometime ago 'down under'.
You've got another car I lusted after for ages.I didn't get one of them either. No worries.
Try getting some die casts of them 'til the real thing comes along. Try modelenium.co.uk

Going to ask a stupid question now......I'm sure I heard or read somewhere that the VXR version is supercharged. However, that can't be right, can it? The latest 6litre version of V8 in the Corvette C6 is good for 400bhp without a blower.

So what ARE the mods over the standard version?

Cheers

the VXR is not supercharged....

The changes from the Monaro in the engine department are Cold air intake, MAF Pipe, PCM, Headers, Exhaust system.

The VXR also gets new dampers, springs, rollbars, Steering rack, Brakes.

Outside it has new body work and 19" rims.

Inside it has some trim changes.

If you bought that lot and added it to a standard Monaro (if you could get the bits!!) it would come to a lot more than the VXR version which is £35595.

Ta for that. Must admit, the bodykit and wheels certainly make it look the business.

Yes thanks - all is well - mostly!

The car is still fantastic!

I've been a little stressed with work and other crap tho , so haven't been able to spend as much time with it as I'd like to

I'll try to get some more pics soon - I'm planning a trip down to Cornwall in the next couple of weeks.

Seriously, congrats. I will have a Monaro one day. I already had a CV8 twice for 4 days which I liked muchly. Just waiting to get my mits on the VXR to see how different it is.

Still got the LC though so I can't grumble.
