I've been a regular visitor to this site for the past month, but this is my first post. Some great info and enthusiasm for the cars, so pleased to be here.

I got hooked on Holden while living in Oz in the mid-'90s and I recently test drove 3 Monaros during a holiday there. Made my mind up, I just want one.

I'm due to collect a phantom black CV8 on Friday!

Meanwhile I'm arranging insurance and being quoted >£1,100 without mods, add £300 if I go ahead with LSV stage 2. Auto Express estimated £800 as a typical quote recently and I wondered what you fellas pay and what effect your mods have had.

I'm 40 with full no claims, 3 points (SP30!), tracker, garage, decent postcode. Interested to hear from others.

Hi "KEV10-30" good to have another Monaro in the club (and a black one at last!)

I pay £795 with Tesco insurance on a HSV GTS, they have been the best quote for the past three years!!

When you get your car please email me picture and info so I can put it on the owners page..

Standard GTS with RAC Trackstar, Clifford Concept 600 CAT 1 alarm, was £640 with Tesco on 5 yrs NCD and 6 points with off road parking, better than Norwich Union Direct that wanted over £1600.

Still with tesco, as above but mods declared (600 BHP) and it is £2,200.

Good choice of colour....

Thanks for info - Tesco were £200 better on quotes with and without mods.

My test drives in UK and Oz were in silver, purple (?) and yellow, so it had to be black !

Tesco's??????????
Next you'll be telling me...Waitrose sell cars!!!!!!!!!
The supermarkets over here can give you fuel but insurance is few and far between! There are only about 3 major companies that all insurance goes through!

Try Adrian Flux. They do my insurance for under £500 with a raft of mods on my Z28 although that's on 7500 miles a year.

Adrian Flux should have been about £700.

But then I wrote off the Z28 ooops.

Bloody Tesco didn;t even know what a HSV was. It took 3 calls before I spoke to someone with a small amount of intelligence!!
