The LC-1's I use were a problem if they got too hot, no issues after I got long tube headers fitted as the O2 bungs are further down stream, no other issues.

The new kid on the block with much improved response time seems to be AEM X series which connects to the CAN bus or OBII port, there are a couple of threads on the efilive forum regarding developing support to connect two WBs on the CAN bus.

The older type LC-1 have better response than latest LC-2 revision, not good.

Thanks for the reply's. I've seen a lot of mixed reviews regarding the Innovates wideband's. Shame really as they do a duel wideband setup.

I have found that Plx do a system that can be linked together if you buy 2 setups:

https://www.plxdevices.co.uk/product/Automotive/Se...

By the looks of it you would need this cable as well to attach to the computer running EFILive to see the wideband readings. Maybe someone can confirm this?

https://www.plxdevices.co.uk/product/Accessories/W...

If in the future I wanted to replace the stock VXR gauges in the dash pod and there gauges look like they would be a perfect fit. I think they already have a voltage meter built in so I would just need to buy a oil pressure controller to link to the wideband controllers then I could replace both gauges. The goal here would be to have one wideband reading on each gauge and then the option to tap the gauge to see oil pressure or voltage so I wouldn't be loosing out on the stock XVR gauge info.

https://www.plxdevices.co.uk/product/Automotive/Mu...

I must admit the AEM X series and Zeitronix kits look good which could be an option as well. I think I will rule out Innovates stuff now though.

I think you can only log one serial wideband using a flashscan (correct me if wrong).

The Zeitronix ZT-2 are basic but their main plus is the sensor is apparently quite robust...the gauge is also very shallow and easy to mount. They only go to 1 decimal place, and the ZT-2 (the affordable one) will only talk to one sensor/gauge. I have 2 gauges, run independently, and I'll log using serial from one, and analogue from both.

Just noticed FAST do a dual wideband setup which looks good.

I am very tempted by a Plx system though. I don't really want to mount gauges in the car as I want to keep the stock look of the interior, saying that I would be interested in seeing photos of mounted gauges in the Monaro VXR. From what I have read you need to at least have one gauge for the initial setup with HP Tuners or EFILive to make sure the correct figures are being shown in the tuning software.

Also just wondering where people have run there wideband wires into the cabin area? I see there is a black bung by the top of gearbox on the Monaro although it doesn't look that big so could be a problem getting the connectors through the hole.

A wideband takes out much of the guesswork, otherwise you're stuck looking at fuel trims.

I ran my widebands through the rubber gromits in the bulkhead/firewall.

I'll take a picture of how I mounted mine, won't be for a week though!

I have 2 plx wb's in my vxr8. Both output analog 0-5v which plug straight into the efilive v2.
Preset pids in efilive so simple to set up. Controller also outputs a nb signal so you could drive into the pcm I guess. Also I think the controller outputs afr in serial..Multi gauges are quite nice, each can display afr, volts, boost, fuel pressure.
Sensors seem to be very sensitive. Essential for tuning. Dual wb's for sanity check smile

That would be much appreciated smile

That's great news! Thanks for confirming as I definitely want a dual wideband setup smile

Did you join both the controllers together using the TX and RX ports? Also how did you wire in the power for them, fuse tap?

I wont be mounting the gauges as I want to keep the interior looking stock but I will most likely get some just to plug in to make sure the reading are correct between the controller and EFILive for the initial setup. Could always leave the wires for the gauges in the glove box I guess and just plug the gauges in as and when.

Excuse the slightly undressed console and dirty knob.

Thanks for the photo, I like the look of that looks a good place to mount them. Did you use a fuse tap to power the widebands?

Also rich24v I would be interested to know how you wired in the 2 Plx wideband controllers, Did you just join both of the controller power wires together? If you have any photos that would be perfect as I'm definitely going to go for a dual Plx wideband setup like you have.

No, there's a connector for the phone kit to the right of the gauges that's handily available (easy to connect 1/4" spades).

Just received an update, AEM now supports dual wife bands with EFILive with their latest model, HP tuners only previously.

This shows it a bit better. They're untested (don't know if they wobble for instance!) and bear in mind the Zeitronix gauges are really shallow, but I'll make you one if you want to try.

I'm not sure if the centre console location is ideal for a wideband (too out of the way) - I also made one of the instrument cluster kind, but it was lots of work and I'm not 100% happy with it.

Piggy backed the fuse for fag lighter socket, passenger side where left foot would sit, access panel there. Ran wires up over and into glove box (controllers sit there, actually have 4 controllers, other 2 for boost and fuel rail pressure). Daisy chained wb1 and boost, wb2 and fuel pressure, serial output wires feed into the cubby hole below stereo. Both gauges in there, can still close the cover to keep it looking stock. Actually homage to Ant Pugh (behold) as he did all the wiring and fiddly stuff there.
