i know this is dumb but where can I find the horn on my VU Ute (not the steering wheel button even I'm not that dumb)

looks like it is behind the front bumper on the passanger side.

Yep, ukhsv is correct if it is a low series car it is on the drivers side under the bumper bar. If it is a high series car there will be one under each side.
I am not sure what car you have count!
If it is an SS Ute , an S-pac Ute or a standard Ute, a good upgrade is to get the twin airhorns off the Calais. All the wiring is already there to put them on..all you need to do is remove the bumper and plug them in...Oh sorry you will need a couple of bolts to attach them with. They then sound a bit more like a car instead of a moped! I think most of the HSV's will already have them over there. Not too sure on the Monaro's. If you want the part numbers let me know and I will raid my normal home for them!!!
The horns are pretty similar to horns off the Vectra only they have different plugs on them. If you were an electronics or wiring whiz you could probably just use the Vectra horns! The horns are made in Spain or that is what they say when you open the box!!
