Mines like that when cold, at times really notchy. Fine when its warm though.

Hopefully just a few worm synchros at worst and I believe the gearboxes are made in Mexico

i only really spotted mine where i had not been driving mine due to winter and was getting used to it again. the boxes are notchy by default it was only as mine felt that little bit different i took it in. im glad i did in many ways.

Which is a very good oil, I am going to fit on the bottom of the box a really strong filter magnet, hopefully keep any metal in the box in one place.

I would have thought if you had teeth missing from cogs there would definitely be metal in the box

the fact the box was working a ok with so much dammage and 3rd was missing teeth and no other gear was and why the main shaft was so badly worn..

Does seem odd, perhaps the gearbox has had a repair before you had the car and was all cleaned out and selectors fitted but gears may have been harder to get at the time so put it back as it was.

Nooooo not good mate .....when we were at Silverstone you said the box felt a little different ..

Does stink of previous knowledge of gearbox issues from previous owner??????
