Nope just a weekend drive, will let you know if any progress.
Any luck? I can across this GM technical bulletin that talks about moisture causing this. I’m going to check out when I get back and assume it’s written for LHD cars, so kick panel to check is on the RH side.

Nothing much to report yet drove fine last weekend, there's a guy on the fb page had the same problem turned out to be crushed wiring to throttle body, he replaced a section of wiring and sorted!
Been ok last 10 years I've asked him for some more info he's gonna update with some pictures.

Yeah I heard that about the wiring, intermittent interference from the fan coming on.
Lucky mine is covered by a dealer warranty so when I get a few more potential solutions I’ll take it to get looked at.

Mine did it again the other night i. the freeway when going downhill and off the throttle, luckily I was taking the next exit!

Switched off and locked car for 2min, started up and got the further 15min without fault. Sat for half our then return drive of 30miles no problem.

Will update this and the FAQ page if i can get the bottom of it. These kind of problems are annoying to chase down but satisfying to do the research and resolve

Luckily although rare in the UK, loads of VY/VZ series cars in Aus with identical set up to learn from, which is why I buy Holdens. Glad my VY at home doesn’t have this problem.

Digging this thread back up.

jelevents - Did your problem get resolved?

My car wasn’t driven much for various reasons until recently and problem resurfaced.

Normally happens under 1500rpm, at lights or moving slowly. Also another time when off the throttle going down hill at 60mph.

Covered about 400miles Friday, happened once when pulling up for a right turn, then fine rest of the day.
Sat covered 220miles with plenty of stops, happened few times towards the end of the day, normally shortly after a restart and when in traffic.

Drove again today for 15min locally with my Scanner in, that I forgot on the road trip, no problem.

So far I’ve tried:

Cleaning the throttle body and checking the butterfly flap opens smoothly, despite the muck I cleaned, still an issue.

Have played with the wires to the throttle body whilst engine running to check for loose wires, no luck.

Due to it be an intermittent fault thinking I’m going to have to go down the usual path, check wiring / earth before changing throttle body...

Well I dunno as the car was sorned from October last year and was due to come out in spring but covid, lockdown and loss of work/earnings put paid to that so I've been doing all the other jobs on the to do list while it's laid up.
I've tried same things as you and thinking it could be throttle body or wiring, but I'll have to wait until it comes out of extended hibernation.
Good luck

Hi Jerry, mine's going to be off the road now for a while as I'm rebuilding the engine, so if you'd like to give my throttle body a go you'd be more than welcome, happy to arrange some sort of socially distanced handover on neutral territory hehe

Can understand that. I will let you know how I get on but may will be a while as moving back to Aus with it in Sept and will take a few months to ship and I’ve got no intention of replacing parts until I get to the other end.

Hi James many thanks but you'll probably be finished before mines back out, but you never know.
Cheers mate.

Oh I don't know about that, putting in a stroker kit and it's my first time doing it so I imagine it's going to be a slow process... Knowing how life gets in the way and the inevitability of not having a gasket or something not fitting, I'd be amazed if it's done in 6 months! hehe

The offer is always there anyway thumbup
