Unusual for a stat not to have a temp stamped into it.
That's what I thought, look all over it and no temp stamped on it at all

Received my stat today and going by the paperwork (nothing stamped on the stat) it's a 174 degree one
79 deg C wink

Can you have a look at the old one, and see if that has a temperature rating on it, when it comes out please?
Oh well that didn't go quite to plan, got the old stat out and tried putting the new one in and it seemed very tight and wasn't able to get the rubber seal to seat properly, after a few censored i stopped and then looked at both stats, the new one was about 1/4 inch longer & maybe a fraction wider, tried it in the water pump and it was too long frown, oh well put the old one back & Monkfish are gonna sort out a replacement as soon as they have some more stock smile

As to your question Ian the one in it was 86 deg which is lower than normal as Roger reckons they are normally 90 deg

95 was what I was expecting, so Richie could be right in thinking that the running temperature will be the same.

Ta. smile

I double checked this. When datalogging the stat opens at 190 F on a standard Monaro. Google tells me that is 87.7 C. So i guess 86 is the norm, not 90.
