Cam spec looks good. The LS6 intake is pretty good, you wont gain much till ~4800+ with a fast.
Heads are your best bet for area under the curve.
Value for money check this post out by AFR's chief head porter.

The old torque line was all the wonky previously!
I think that's just the scales that Vixpy has used. The curve is very similar, though peak torque has moved down the rev range a bit - which I think could be attributed to the kissing pipe (though I may be wrong)rather than the old collector box.AFR looks much the same mate.
Bit rich at the top end, but nothing tragic. Probably some more BHP in leaning it up towards 13:1
Going by the curve the airflow model is out.
Nice mid/small L92 designed cam with high lift and soft valve seating with a tuneup should have you add ~45rwhp onto that IMO.

Thanks. Would the airflow model be out because I've added a CAI, but not had the car remapped?Bit rich at the top end, but nothing tragic. Probably some more BHP in leaning it up towards 13:1

I've got ideas on where to progress next, but as everything is in flux until it has actually been done.....
It was out before
OEM setup isnt great and fueling is not accurate. Hence why there are gains from the get go.
You have probably just made it worse. Its still all fine though.
Do all your airflow mods first then tune to wrap it all together. A cam will force you to tune as it will throw a lot more than fueling out of whack

Yes, that's what I've done. I'm happy with just the CAI and standard exhaust.OEM setup isnt great and fueling is not accurate. Hence why there are gains from the get go.

What did surprise me, is that the power now isn't far off what the LS3 VXR8 used to have, or Sam's LS2 VXR8 with bolt on bits, so maybe the cam and map aren't as hobbled as I originally suspected. Still work in progress though.
Yeah yours is better than LS2 heads and intake wise anyway, so what you gain there you lose on the cam probably evens out.
Also your CAI may have altered MAF flow readings so as not to be so terrible. Some dip to 10:1 under load stock. Yours is 12 so way better there.
Got a pic of your MAF location and setup? In theory it should be in the middle of a 1' straight pipe..
If you are stopping where you are now then fair enough. Id be so tempted to at least swap out for a stock LS3 cam and springs that would otherwise go in the bin.Should be zero cost there, just some labour which can perhaps be left till other work was required down the line.

MAF is in its normal place, close to the air filter wall. I'll get a picture of it. Also your CAI may have altered MAF flow readings so as not to be so terrible. Some dip to 10:1 under load stock. Yours is 12 so way better there.

As for the cam, that's something to worry about in the future.
Ok well arguably you can even save yourself the cost of the tune. There wont be much in it. Going from 12:1 to 12.8 or so might give you 10bhp if you are lucky.
But whats the point..? Timing cant really be done unless on a dyno and these ECU's dont lend themselves to that either. So personally if you are going to max budget Id call it a day
Come back to the party when you have a cam that needs going in.

Ian. Very impressive result Mate, stand out of the day with ARAF's. You must be pleased. Leave it alone.

Leave it alone !!!!! Come on Gareth, it's only money
I'm waiting to see what WP say/estimate what RWHP I'll get if I put a CAM. If R8black has 420 with a MF CAM, with my 388, assuming that's not crammed, I should get nearer 450.
Plus I've got the money already for the CAM via a tax rebate so it's not as if I'll be paying for it..............kind of
Plus I'm sure Mr B would appreciate a stock LS3 CAM
Random question, after the rolling road session my gauges on the dash have decided to stop working! Only thing I can think of is Roger reset something or unplugged something before the run. Not sure if that would have done it? Any ideas?
These are the added twin gauges on top of the dash, not the normal cluster!

If they work off the OBD port, then yes, Roger would have unplugged this to plug in his computer. Have a feel under the dash, and you should find the socket, and the plug dangling nearby. These are the added twin gauges on top of the dash, not the normal cluster!
