Roger did fix it and yes, its on dreamtoys car now with no issue.
IIRC Roger replaced the blower deck on both our units prior to resale. The problem is the design of the middle bearing journal, the whip of the shaft can cause the bearing to spin, once it starts the alloy being the weak link starts to wear away at the journal making the repair interval ever smaller.
The 112 has no centre bearing, it was a new design for the 122.

Common problem with the 122s.
As long as you are careful it won't stop you using it. Fixing won't really be cost effective, wait till you can upgrade to a tvs1900
How much is a tvs1900 going to cost compared to fixing the 122 then?As long as you are careful it won't stop you using it. Fixing won't really be cost effective, wait till you can upgrade to a tvs1900

Having watched Trevor's car run a SRR the way the 1900 picks up is just mad. Real world I'm betting it would drive quicker. Also its a cheaper option.
Bit like the old 112s, from what I've been led to believe. No headline figure, but a hoot to drive.Reminds me of the difference between a 1/4 litre 2 stroke, and a 4T sports bike with similar power.

Why would you want to replace a 2.2 litre blower with a 1.9 litre blower? For the difference in cost you might as well go 2.3? (TVS2300)
I thought the number (122) was the capacity in cubic inches. So a 122 is a fraction under 2 litres, while the 112 is about 1836cc. So a TVS1900 sits between the two and a TVS2300 is quite a bit ahead.Xpuffin said:

Is the bearing you refer to on the lay shaft? Can't be too hard for someone to repair the 'hole' where the bearing goes. The problem is the design of the middle bearing journal, the whip of the shaft can cause the bearing to spin, once it starts the alloy being the weak link starts to wear away at the journal making the repair interval ever smaller.

Sounds like it just needs the hole to be less slippery, maybe threaten it with marriage?
