Not sure if the forum has a search function. If you go back a few pages...Insurance over there was discussed at length as some of the insurance people didn't know what the cars were.
Just to make you cry I pay $900 for my car insurance over here in Oz about 380 pounds! and thats exspensive!

Hi Sean, I am insured with Adrian Flux. Your quote seems pretty good , similar to the figure I paid for the first year with them-and I'm a lot older than you!
Mine is a 5.7 ss, I don't think it will make much difference to the quote.
Is your ute on the boat yet?
See you on Sunday

I'd be impressed if you can significantly reduce that quote, given your age and lack of no-claims.

Welcome to Britain. You have yet to fill it up with fuel! Then insurance won't seem so bad.

The quote seems very reasonable to me. I am with Adrian flux and pay a little less because I am older and have more no claims. The good thing is that they do not require me to fit a Thatcham approved immobiliser like most companies.

Hi Sean,

Considering your situation it's not far off my current insurance. I'm the same young age as yourself, got 4 years NCB & a girfriend who had an accident back in 2002. My quote was ~£800 from Natwest. I went with them because I'd already paid the full years insurance for my previous car. All I had to do was pay the difference. It was the easiest & cheapest option for me at the time. As motomk has already said, trying to find an insurace company who lists your specific car is incredibly rare. According to Natwest I have a 5.7 V8 HSV Coupe. They couldn't grasp the idea that I had a 4 door sloon Commadore as it wasn't in their list. They simply put some comments on the policy with the details. I've also sent them some pictures along with the Thatcham Cat 1 Alarm Certificate. All appears to be OK.

G'Day Sean,
You could always have me as your Chauffeur. I'm a bit older (OLD) with full NCB & I suppose I wouldn't mind driving your Ute around.

Sorry I know your after serious suggestions.

All the best mate, see ya Sunday.
