I run a cam on an LS1 it's not that wild and iam putting out 503hp and 419rwhp. I have said my cam is not wild but it does shunt a lot in traffic and can be a pain driving in town.
As Richard says, there is a 99.5% chance it is simply down to tuning.
The shutting and 8mog in town is a good excuse to use other car unless it's late at night as car sounds awesome in the center of Edinburgh hehe

Google 'ls1 cam surge' for tuning ideas...mine's pretty well behaved I think, although almost certainly less forgiving than stock (can't remember!).

My cam has been in for 5/6 years now so I have learnt to drive it the way it is lol

Manual LS2 VXR8

Starting a few upgrades soon with headers & cats but later will be doing re-map & CAI but am thinking about a cam at the same point. Opinions are divided it seems on whether a wild cam is suitable for daily driving or not. I'm not chasing massive bhp figures but would rather decent driveability - is this still achievable with a wild cam?
Did you choose a cam

Not for definite yet but will more than likely be a Walky mild unit. Trying Phils Ute out at the weekend which has a mild cam.

Thanks to Phil for the drive of his Ute. Apart from being an LS3 compared to my LS2 the engine spec is what I'm looking for: Walky full exhaust, OTRCAI, remap with a MILD cam. Its got the right amount of noise, power & drive I'm after. Thanks Phil. smile

Is the wild too much for a daily driver?

What would people max on a daily driver with can spec?

If the engine was fitted to a pre 1973 car, it would pass a legitimate MOT no problem lol

1973-1983...maybe. 1983-1992...very unlikely, and 1992+ CAT based MOT, not a chance

How big can you go keeping emissions friendly (ls2 vxr8 daily)
