After years of Impreza/Evo ownership, I thought that turning 40 required a change to a grown up car. A Monaro seemded to fit the bill! Did not intend to buy until later this year, but a May 04 model came up with just 1300 miles at better than right money.
The trade off is that following repairs to light OS frontal damage, (which appears to be OK), the car is lacking a screen washer bottle and therefor secure wheel arch liner (I'll spare you the boring story).
My initial contact with the Vauxhall dealer network for information on manufacturers security just to get the car insured, leads me to conclude that I need a repairer who actually knows something about the car.
From some of the forum content it looks like there maybe an expert in our midst in the form of KiwiHSV, maybe even in my area (North Worcs)? Like to hear from if this is the case.
Would also appreciate any opinions on getting these big bad boys serviced. I'm not greatly excited by the prospect of using Vauxhall dealers, but do have a couple of years worth of warranty to consider.

No Dan it was the one on Auto Trader for 18k, but no damage. Had light MS front damage that had been repaired (Well by the look of it), but had a windscreen replacement and repairer forgot to bond insert trim. It let go and flailed around the car a bit. The owner rejected the repair and the insurance company ended up owning the car! but no loss registered. No damage from rubber, just marks. Bit of T Cut and effort later it looks mint!

No GSE but you are only one digit out. Do you know the car?

Yes thats the one, however if the report in the link was true someone did a good job of sorting it after the Linden appraisal.
Pretty familiar with buying damaged repairables, and having made a living at body & paint in the past, I'd classify this a repaired repairable.
Either way at the eventual price - happy days!

Congratulations on your new purchase & welcome to the forums. I hope you'll continue to have a lot of fun with both.
Because I run my car on a daily basis it becomes too expensive to use the Super Unleaded. I've wanted to try it though. I'll wait for a special day before doing so.
PS: Any chance you could add a few more details to your profile so we know what car you've got & where abouts you are in the country. TIA.
