WANRING - watch the wires under the drivers seat
Discussion
I recently got an SRS warning lamp on the dash. By coincidence the electric seat adjustment on the drivers side also stopped working.
After a small amount of investigation I found the wires to the side air bag (in the seat) and the electric motor under the seat had snapped.
This had happened over time with moving the seat forwards and backwards. The wires go under the seat rail where they are tie-wrapped to the rail preventing movement. I have taken the tie wrap off and there is some more movement allowed now.
Mending the wires wasn't a problem, but to clear the SRS lamp and fault code required a trip to a Vauxhall dealer to use Tech 2.
The local dealer was EXCELLENT and the code was soon cleared. The lads then spent half an hour drooling over the car. They loved it are are praying to Vauxhall to allow them to become a dealer.
So just a warning - if you are moving your seat back / fore, watch out for the wires snapping.
