LS1 Engine Tuning.
Discussion
Wortec Engine Tuning have worked their tuning wonders over my engine. WOW what a difference.
The acceleration is great. It pulls hard all the way. I've even had the oil warning light come on when the oil slopped backwards under hard acceleration.
It pulls in 3rd like it used to in 2nd. It responds better in 6th at motorway speeds. I'm hitting my speed limiter far quicker and more often.
The sounds is great too. The car has never run better in my opinion. The tick over is crisp and responsive. It pops and f@rts. The tone is great.
I think the best way to describe it is "puposeful, responsive, crisp and sharp".
The tuning has proved to me that any mod done to the engine, has to be followed with refining the software. After my intakae and zorst adjustments, the engine was WAY lean. Now its spot on.
This has to be the way forward for all you LS1 guys, even if you have no mods, there are gains in that software to make your engine run better.

Is your car still with the MAF sensor?
Mine is out & that appears to be an obsticle to tuning, that is apart from crappy remaps from Oz & no one competent (yet) to 'tune' a maffless set-up in blighty.
So you need a larger baffled sump then?
I am very pleased for you with your set-up matey, enjoy & show those northern TVR's the way to go.

I am running with MAF. I am also running with normal unleaded.
These are currently contributing to my upper limits.
The MAF can be replaced with a better one - yes please. I have no intentions of going MAF less. But over 400HP looks easy with a MAF.
The fuel is a compromise - we do lots of miles, do I really want to got that extra HP for every day use????? My heart say yes, but I'm a tight northerner LOL.

Know exactly what you mean Jagsy. They have now done the ute twice.(had to have it done again after the de-cat). They have given it at least another 60 bhp according to the dyno, and shifted peak torque from 5250rpm, down to 4000 rpm, where it is much more useable.Acceleration at 80mph in 4th is just the business (obviously on a private road!) Hopefully going to put it up the quarter mile at Avon Park at the weekend. That should bed in my new tyres!
