Just wondering if anyone knows of an exhaust place in the south (portsmouth) that actually has a pipe bender?

Quiet supprised at the number of places that are "exhaust" centre's but all you can do is buy a complete muffler.

Mainly just want to have the rear resonator taken off, and replaced with a straight through pipe... BUT want to be able to put it back on when and if I ever get a MOT done. Didn't get time to get it done in AU before the car got over here.

Any help, greatly appreciated.

Some of the Powerflow dealers are well equiped to bend tubing. I think that most machines will only bend max. 2.5in , check out the dealer location on [url]

I think there is one close to you.

Yeah sorry Will, didn't realise they were a P/flow dealer.
Raggyman, you may not have to bother to replace the rear box for the MOT. A friendly Test Centre should be able to tell you. Might save you a bit of aggro.
If you do a lot of motorway miles, be prepared for an increased in "booming". They do sound better without the rear box though!

Yeah, had the rear resonator taken off my old VN, and loved the sound. Mine is only a V6, so trying to make it sound what it ain't.

Went to PETS yesterday afternoon, and the MOT guy said that he wouldn't pass it. But mind you, they wouldn't know what it sounded like before.

Cheers

mine was done by the guys in Southampton about 3 yrs ago and they also fitted the wide band O2 sensors in a few of the Monaros we have worked on......

I think they wanted about £80 to do the rear pipe section......

place looks a bit rough but they seem to do a good job.........

Thanks Paul, yeah, going to go down there today to see what they can do. Was amazed, the guy Dave knew what a Holden was. Now it all fits together as to how he knows about them.

Wish I had gotten it done when back home in AU, but didn't bother cause my mum and dad were driving it around. Then when it came to getting it all together and organised it all happened very quickly.

I have OEM manufactured HSV straight thro tailpipe on way to me from Oz.Should be here Mon/Tues.As this is a manufacturer item it will be a straight fit to 04 Monaros, with possibly a small mod; for GTS & Rs.Once you have a original pattern anything is possible. Are the tube bender mentioned offering true mandrel bend facilities?
