Hi,

I have an ls engined car and it has a fast 102 tb, the car is running turbos and when I pressurized the system to check for leaks its absolutely p***ing air out of the throttle blade behind the spring.

I take is there is a seal in there cant find much on the net regarding this.

Going to strip it down tonight has anyone else had this ?? If so what about seals ??

banghead at having to strip down my expensive TB

Do you mean between the TB and intake (big o ring/gasket) or it's going down the shaft through the bearing?

I'm assuming you've got button head bolts on the valley cover, as you may even find it's leaking underneath if they weren't changed.

I used to seal boosted holley throttle shafts with a sliver of a fairy liquid plastic bottle or similar.

The proper fix is to boost reference the shaft.

Sometimes it's best not to look for leaks like that.

Relative to the amount of air the turbos will pump in...usually it is insignificant.

If it isnt actually causing a driveability problem, and the blade is working smoothly etc and not hanging out of it, dont get too worked up about it.

That said if it is easy to take apart, it can do no harm to have a nosey, but there may be no actual seals in there to do anything with.

Morning,

Its leaking down the shaft and coming out under the spring.

Your probably right stevie but it will bug me unless I at least try to stop it smile - it really is a fair bit coming out!

Found an article online where somebody had the same and put the seal in back to front and this cured it.

Will have a go at the weekend - will be buying a new one on Monday after I have attacked it biglaugh

What pressure did you put in and where to?
