Car is together and was idling nicely...

...now all of a sudden it's chirping like there's a bird in the engine. Judging by other people's videos I think it's a lifter...I suppose that'll be the cam stuffed too then. fk! Doubt I'll be making it now.

Pulleys seem good...it's probably a good excuse to put in a more worthy ITB cam, but I just can't be arsed at this point!

That's a distinct disadvantage. You probably won't get much over 10mph in your trainers.
