I can't believe I'm claiming top of the D class (pub numbers). Not like previous years with Ringram et al. I'll get my excuses in early...estimated power figure, unfinished open loop tune, 3.9 diff, a squirrel looked at me funny...

That'd be me and I'm happy to hand it over to someone else.

Shame you didn't. As for the video, the sound is rubbish, unfortunately.

Thanks again Dougie, fun day...worth the 4am start smile

I badly under-performed...I'm no racer.

1st run - throttle cable adjuster undid, got 68% throttle all the way down!
2nd run - fluffed 2nd-3rd
3rd run - badly fluffed 2nd-3rd and didn't close my windows until 120mph
4th run - 2nd-3rd...smash
5th run - ok, but not as fast as run 3

I think I need to dial back piston protection - I was getting 10:1 AFR through 4th and 5th, and spark advance was pegged at 16.5 degrees from 2nd gear on...some investigation needed (might be normal). It was definitely good to have an opportunity to work on the WOT part of the tune smile [edit: looks like I was on the low octane spark table for some reason despite no recorded knock - time to read up on adaptive spark - interesting how stable dynclair is...suppose that's just what you get with 0% vacuum in the manifold]

I was hitting the limiter in 5th a few secs before the finish (3.9 diff). Upping the limiter 20 rpm would have had me equal leigh's speed tongue out

robo22sri(? red vxr) - email me and I'll work out how to give you my helmet-cam video where I was racing you with my windows open - your car is louder than mine and the audio actually turned out quite good. Your car sounds fking mean! smile

Wrong compared to ?

Was distance or actual speeds wrong ?

it is infuriating going to events, only for the organisers to get the most important aspect wrong....the bloody measurements !

Speeds were bob-on. I saw 250 on my GPS when they recorded 248.96 for me, and I would have kept my foot in for a fraction past the timing beam. New system meant they didn't post the figures until then end for people to look at during the event. HappyMidget saw 286 on the board at the end of one of his runs but it isn't in his record of times. Shame, as he made sure he didn't do his fastest time on his sixth run, this year. wink

Thanks to Dougie and the crew from Vauxhall and Javelin.
Really chuffed for getting the win bounce
Not bad for a grandad auto.

No problem, tyre smoke will overcome wind noise biggrin

Thanks to Dougie, VXR & Javelin for another great day, really enjoyed myself even though I failed to hit 140 again and took the spoon home for the 2nd year running.

I did beat the 970bhp Corsa though, so that's something wink

Still, 4th isn't bad? Mid 180s should be quite straight forwards on current gearing . Might give it a go next year.
