agreed, it should either be cheaper or have 700bhp for that money as it needs anpther £10k on upgrades to make it the right power for the money

its over £17k more than std GTS VXR8 LSA just for trim and cosmetics. all VX have done on mods is the airbox for 10bhp and 1lb ft torque - woohoo eek - just to claim its the most powerfull Vauxhall ever made - I think that's called taking the piss confused

I guess they couldn't give it too much extra power, or it would tread on the toes of the GTS-R W1?
Daft money for what it is.

The GTS-R is a bit of a cash grab. HSV produced the last GTS yesterday and the GTS-R effectively replaces it. It got a 5kW bump in power, front bumper and guards from the W1 and some other cosmetic stuff inside.

Lucky we're getting any over here at all considering the VX change of ownership.

Next year we might have the Vauxhall RCZ, or Corsa 208 GTi.

It's the end of an era and personally I'm just glad to see that we're getting a sprinkling of it in the UK. They could very easily have missed us out.

As for the price, it's not for me, but if you have the cash to splash and it's your cup of tea then why the hell not?? Limited to 15 so it's not as though they aren't going to sell them all at full whack. Still a heck of a lot rarer that top end BMW and Merc models of similar size/calibre. And is the griffin badge really so lowbrow these days??

Totally agree. We all like these cars because they are different and so politically incorrect in the current climate of small turbo engines.

The final models are the ones which will top the value charts in the future. Expect all values to rise a little once people realise there are no more and want a piece of the action.

You could look at it like that but the new parts are actually 'new', not existing premium model designated bits which they're throwing onto lesser models to move stock. Interestingly, everyone (except for HSV....) was thinking that the GTS-R would be hotted up thing, as it was with the old GTS-R. For some reason HSV dreamt up the GTS-R as the new GTS and the W1 as the 'something special' thing.

So in effect the GTS-R is the equivalent of the BMW 550i M Sport wannabe BMW M5. Not quite the model you really wanted

Its a great looking car but just a GTS in a very expensive Tuxedo

I agree with the sentiment being said it's a superb looking car,,and I've have one in a heartbeat, even if it had been a couple of k more expensive fair enough but c,mon 17 k !!!!
Still id assume the 15 comming to the UK will still be snaffled up quick time tho,,
