Thanks guys. Is that lower power steering pipe a stock item at Vauxhall’s or is there a better way to go about getting one?!
I was reading up on this and it appears that the Vauxhall Cavalier Mk3 2.0 is a fit, but I'd probably just go to the local hydraulics place and have one made.
I fitted a Cav Mk3 pipe as it as a plastic coating on the metal. A bit of moding but mine as been on for years no probs. When I had a MK3 Cav I sold it with around 132,000 miles on it and that pipe was like new.

I think it’s a bit steep too - but I’ve just ordered some anyway

Interesting idea Ade. When you say “a bit of modding” can you give me an idea of what needed modding?

I had to make a bracket attached to body to hold the pipe firm .

Thanks for all the replies so far. Now I don’t want to change too much to the Ro but if anyone has a nice nostrils bonnet preferably in silver that they’d like to dispose of then please let me know

The floor mat retainers arrived today and I’m well pleased with them. Thanks for the tip-off.

biggrin Funny how such little things can bring such happiness! I'm hoping Rock Auto make me happy with the water pump gaskets they didn't send last week!

I remember being really happy with my new exhaust hangers and retaining clips from M/F.
It's a funny old world.

Just looked in the back and noticed I’m missing a small cover from the rear of the centre console. Any ideas where I could find a replacement at a reasonable price?

Without looking at my car, I'm sure that's an ashtray door.

I thought that too but it has a very neat little mat sitting inside.

You are correct that is an ash tray, or it might have been had the original owner paid around a £100.00 for a cigarette lighter and ash tray. If the option was not wanted you got a little rubber mat instead. I think speed4u is a good bet for a used one. You could still try Vauxhall just for a laugh?

For what it's worth, i bypassed my pas cooler a few years ago and have covered many miles since doing it. I drive enthusiastically most of the time, so it's had a good work out and is just on the low pressure side of things so nothing will blow off.

Evening all, so I’ve noticed that there seems to be movement from the gearbox under the floor over cirtain size bumps - which I think means a new bolt on gearbox mount is required.
I’ve seen a supplier in the US but are there any good definately suppliers in the UK for these - part from maybe Vx dealerships?

I’m based near Cambridge.

If you can wait on delivery - about a week - then it's nearly always cheaper to buy from the US. Rock Auto are worth a look.
