Hi, I had this and it ended up being a faulty MAF unit. Monkfish traced it via the fault codes... MAF replaced (circa £170) and problem solved, been good for a couple of years now.

From memory though there can be a lot of reasons for this occurring. Maybe best to get the faults cleared, then get it to fail again and read the codes. Mine got progressively worse over a six month period until it was doing it reasonably frequently which helped to find the issue.

Best wishes for resolving it. I recall the beeping drove me around the bend...

Mine was also rear wheel speed sensor. They are quite sensitive to positioning, and if there's been any work back there recently they could have easily moved a bit. Or just the sensor is dead.

I believe on the US forums they actually suggest using a shim to get better alignment for the magnetic sensor, thread below

We chatted about similar issues on here before, gets more relevant further down, which is also where the above thread was referenced thumbup

just had it a few times pop up clears after you turn engine off and back on it's happened while moving around 30-40 mph and stationary too this I would presume means its the maf sensor which would make more sense as the second time I wasn't even moving.

ill see if my mate still has his diagnostic box to find out any error codes
