So at the weekend I had a little play with a bmw i8 he initially got the drop and pulled away as I was in 5th but when he slowed I stayed with him but couldn't close the gap if we had the space guess he would have hit his limiter or run out of battery then only had his puny 1.5ltr 3 cyl.
Make me smile though that my old school 12 year old kept pace with something costing £100k more. hehe

Last week I was walking the dogs when one of these drove past me, the driver pulled out of a junction, then put his foot down. I have to say it sounded completely underwhelming.
If I paid that kind of money for a car it would have to sound bloody fantastic.
I'm sure there are lots of people out there that would love one, however a lap top on wheels isn't for me.

It has to be said that all these new high tech cars with their super T/C systems, flappy paddle gazillion speed boxes and other driver aids are taking all the skill needed of the driver away.
It takes no driver skill at all to put one of these in 'drive' and plant you foot hard down to beat another off the line or make speedy progress down a country road - car doing all but steer for you!
I bet there are many mature drivers that have been driving such cars for years now and would struggle to drive a simple manual car now, especially fast, all skill gone.

Really?rofl

Any petrolhead will still know how to pedal a car. Those who go for the i8 type of car never could. smile
