Thanks for that, I would be curious to know who the chaps were that came across, Holden or TWR Engineers?

As for the barge bit, I'll just put 4 adults AND all the luggage in the car and give you a go

Holdens chief engineer came over to sort the car out.

The bloke who owns the car is called "wedgeman" on PH.Mail him if you want more info, tell him you a mate of mine(i'm making stainless steel fuel tanks for it) he loves talking about the car.

Ok you win with 4 adults
We will just have to take two SEAC's out,it's a hard life

Hope to catch up with you soon

Steve

Ten of the Best 4

Supposed to be a collection of the quickest road going, road legal cars in the country.
1/4 mile, top speed and a handling circuit.

Several groups of 10 of each type of car chosen. 4 years on, and many of the cars are not really road cars anymore. Race tyres ( albeit road legal ) race fuel everywhere, stripped out racers arriving on trailers with massive service backup isnt really a road car. They may have tax and MOT, but still.

I'll drive there, race, and drive home again. Mine is a true road car in every sense.

Interesting point.. A reliable source at the Factory did say that Holden themselves flew their chief engineer out for a couple of days - so I'm sure that's the case..

.. although apparently it was Tom Walkinshaw who suggested to Peter Wheeler that he tried the Holden lumps out in the first place - well so I've been told anyway.. and the timing does coincide with TWR developing & racing the GM units in Australia.

Fantastic Steve! I know we've learned quite a bit so far working on the Elephant - but they've not actually offered me their Chief Engineers job yet!

ps - the fuel sender units are apparently now unavailable - is the one on the rear tank good enough to be taken out in one piece so I can refurb it??

I'm hoping we might see this Monster at the Surrey Tiv Meet then? We're just down the road at the Fairmile this Thursday.

Is this the same one as the Vett one - I have that as tonite - but you say tivs - so are these chaps every last thursday - but marginal for this thurs - may get it going on thurs.

But have to refit all trim - bleed brakes - exhaust on(10 mins) etc, and I need a top ball joint replaced - have it but don't want to do it - car in Swindon at the moment - I'll try best get some insurance for thurs - been off road too long - keep forgetting.

Didn't make it - it was close - been on the road a week now though. Running in but truely NUTs LS6 / Z06 chipped with custom SS exhaust, in a car weighing 1100kg (300+ less than a C5 Z06), and shorter gearing.

Maybe an ENZO or Zonda could do it on the straight, can't see alot else!

Should be run in over next week for Le man's.

What sort of diff ratio are you running ?

And what sort of diff do the Holdens use ?

I was consdiering going from 3.27 to 3.55, although not convinced it will be a better move. The 3.27 works pretty good for me at the minute though.

My 3.27 with 245/45x16 is a good bit taller.

Im seeing about 1700rpm at 80mph. 6th is a bit tall, although as long as you are above 1500rpm, it is fine. 4th and 5th seem to be working ok for finishing the 1/4 at decent speeds and doing a good top end.
