Just fitted these this morning....

Finding a decent wheel to fit correctly is quite hard for these cars, but these are a great fit, very nearly factory specification.

Thank you.
They are BBS CI-R 19X8" 5X120 ET45 - stock is ET48 so pretty close.
Fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 245/35/19.
About 25kg lighter across the 4 wheels n tyres too.

They look magic! I always look at what our colonial brethren do with the HSVs and GTOs because there doesn't seem to be much done in the way of wheel swapping here.

Cheers.
I wanted as close to stock fitment as possible, can't be bothered with arch/suspension clearances problems.
These are stock fitment in all but the offset which push just 3mm outwards, I'm sure the tolerance is there!
Obviously spigot rings were required, BBS kindly provided 4 alloy spigot rings that are held into the wheels with a spring clip to stop you loosing them during maintenance!
The look is growing on me, whilst definitely very nice, I'm not sure if I prefer the look of stock 5.7 VXR wheels. Mine had been cracked and welded in 2 places on both back wheels and whilst didn't cause me any issues I decided I'd prefer a new set of quality wheels with zero miles on them. I was looking to fit really good tyres anyway so 2 birds 1 stone.

Now they've been on the car a few days they've grown on me!
Wasn't sure they looked better than the originals, but now I think they do - just a little!

Colour accents were standard on the HSV GTS Coupe only I believe?

The Monaro VXR is based on the HSV GTO Coupe - no accents.

Believe it or not I'm considering returning the car to full solid red. Haven't decided yet.

Your right about the GTO / GTS, however I’ve seen a few VRX with black accent and also thought they were all based on the GTO

A UK spec Monaro VXR is pretty much based on the HSV GTO coupe. The GTS was a much more expensive version.
The GTS got 19 inch alloy wheels. 6 piston AP brakes, and a 300kw C4B 5.7 engine, and of course the contrasting colour accents on the front and rear bumpers and side skirts.
These models were produced in 2002 but I'm not sure how many were made.
The GTO, came with 18 inch wheels and 255kw engines. I don't think AP brakes were even an option on this model?

No, all UK Monaro VXR’s were supplied in one solid colour.... red, silver or black.
Colour was the only option available.

Any Monaro VXR with contrasting accents has done by the owner afterwards.

Great thanks for explaining.

I’m trying to get my hands on a reasonably priced accessory catalog to see what factory options were available on the VXR

IIRC there were NO factory options available for either the UK spec CV8 or VXR Monaro. They came from the factory in Australia to the UK in one spec.
Now the dealer options list was different, and varied across the country I believe, but even this was minimal.
I think you could choose a Miltek cat-back for example.

Cool thanks. I’ll pick up a brochure for my files as I plan to hang onto this one and bring it home to AUS

I think the only UK options for a Monaro were, mud flaps, front and rear cigarette lighters, cat back sports exhaust and a choice of rear spoilers for the CV8.
