Interesting looking supercharger on the ebay car for sale. Looks pretty small. Not familiar with Vortec superchargers.
That's because its a centrifugal type, which is essentially a belt driven turbo.Very similar to the Procharger kit, the route I'd be interested in trying.

It's the same reason you would by a Monaro over a VXR8.
I like VXR8's, but I have some strange attraction to a two door coupe, more so than for a four door car. I would therefore have the VXR500.
In the real world the Bathurst edition would probably be the betterr car, both from a practical and dynamic point.
i agree that the manoro attracts me more .. i assume it is the lack of 2 door v8 follows ups .. you would be looking to get the last vxr8s if you had the money I like VXR8's, but I have some strange attraction to a two door coupe, more so than for a four door car. I would therefore have the VXR500.

^^^ However I would suggest they might not be quite as reliable, even just suffering from some electrical/electronic gremlins that the Monaro doesn't.
dont rust as much but whilst the vxr8 is the better car as it’s much more modern the ro drove nicer and was nicer to drive. The vxr8 had a cheap interior in comparison. I get it now. Does it make quite the same whine as a Harrop does? Must admit to having a secret harbouring for a VXR8 but i'd really want the Bathurst version personally, although I do love the sound of a normally aspirated one too. I guess i'm a bit spoilt with my Ro. Not that I could afford one as they still go for strong money.
Interesting comment about the interior as I think the interior of the Ro is ok..not particularly exciting and a bit cheap looking in places but I do like the coupe styling of the Ro as it looks mean even when it's not moving

No, the sound isn't the same, because they are very different types of charger, but its still a supercharger noise!
I happen to think the interior of the Ro is holding up to age quite well, they are after all old cars now. They aren't going to be as aesthetically pleasing as the latest offerings, but mines all intact, nothing is broken or missing (not now anyway ). The leather has some light wear on the fronts, but understandable with 80k on the clock.

Just to continue what's been said, the centrifugal style superchargers (the ones that look like a belt driven turbo...) don't make the same whine as the positive displacement style superchargers (that sit in place of the intake manifold).
The power delivery is different in so far as the PD style supercharger is, as the name implies, rather like simply having a larger displacement engine, so you get more torque everywhere and thus more power.
With the centrifugal blower, boost builds with RPM, so you get more of a progressive build of power, which can make them less likely to overwhelm the rears.

The interior of both won’t look as fresh as the stupid modern affair but they are very nice places to be, dials that work rather than a stupid lcd floating bks. I really miss my ro, I’ll definitely have another preference being an ls1 vxr.
^^^Yeah got to agree, really not liking the average modern interior at the moment, specifically the dash arrangement.
I really dislike the dashboards that have the infotainment screen slapped smack central and look like a total after thought from a aesthetical point of view. They don't look built in, more stuck on, dam ugly things.
