Nice analysis Sid447. I used to have the HOT cam in an LT1 slightly different specs for that engine, but it was fine for around town. It ran a high 12 down the 1/4. Fuel wasnt really an issue as it ate quite a bit in any case (stock cam). Sounds were nicer with the lope and while a little unruley at lower revs a sidestep of the clutch at higher rpms always sorted that out. I guess Ive lived with both and quite like the "rough" side of the hairier cams. Just getting some thoughts out in the air. I think maybe somewhere in the middle is the answer.. perhaps even your 212/212...
However as you say torque is king, a change of gears will allow you to use the torque if done right. A nice flat torque curve with lots of area under it is ideal which is why I was avoiding discussing the 230+ duration cams. A nice v8 lope is always good too.

The guy with the 383ci Gen 3 I mentioned has become so fed up with his 232/232 he's down-sizing to something with better manners.
The Oz guys are into the 11's with cams of under 220 duration; which in a car that weighs the best part of 3700lbs isn't bad going:

A 212/212 on a 112LSA has 42 degrees of overlap (@ 0.006" and gives a slight shake at 750rpm. Though it will idle okay still at 500rpm.
So at a good guess it would be pretty much what you'd like on a 110LSA.
Though you'd probably need a split-pattern cam (i.e. 212/218) as you'll be emissions compliant/cat-equipped no doubt, and would need the longer exhaust duration.
