Are there any?

I know there was the blue HSV VE brought over, but as there's only one and it was £50k ish new I can't imagine it's within any reasonable budget of mine...hehe

It would need to be a manual V8. Much beyond that (year, mileage etc.) I don't care, provided it hasn't rusted in half.

That would be a stationwagon.

There is a blue VE SS wagon in the UK. It was for sale, a couple of months ago (might even still be for sale).

How quickly do you need one as Trevski is importing clean utes from Oz but could probably source a wagon?

Oh I definitely don't NEED one, just want one.

Importing Utes you say? I'd quite like a VY SS manual, as I have an auto but it's just not for me, need a manual. Who's Trevski?

And yes, the dream is to complete the set having an NA Monaro that handles well, a supercharged Ute that mainly obliterates tyres and a relatively standard wagon hehe

Have you considered doing an a manual conversion? You’ll have to import parts put plenty available in Aus. Utes can have a hard life, especially an SS, often a young tradies car.

If you already own a clean one I’d hang onto it.

I'm fairly sure mine's had a hard life as it is, and if not it's certainly getting a hard life now hehe

Manual conversion isn't totally off the cards, more because I'd buy a beefed up T56 for the Monaro and stick the Monaro's box in the Ute, but really given I could theoretically get one already done (by the factory) that just seems more sensible...

You have just triggered the man maths part of my brain though that's now thinking a T56 Magnum is 'only' £4k ish so maybe it's worth a bit more thinking about...

Other than PartsworldPerformance are there any places to pick up T56s other than breakers or importing from the US? I would assume that things like pedal assembly and trim pieces are the same as the Monaro as the rest of the interior is as good as identical... scratchchin

I thought Trevski was on here as well as the HSV group on Facebook?

You'll have to look him up over there. I think his full Fb name is Trevski Downunder. smile

Could only find 3 manual SS Wagons and 1 manual HSV wagon under 60,000kms for sale in OZ.
Auto increases it to about 60
Auto under 20,000kms, there are half a dozen, most with an LS3 - last of the SS cars.(mainly Redlines)
Don't know on the prices and the freight is probably average, but these people know a lot about gearboxes

Pretty sure all parts are compatible as it’s the same base. Have a look at what the guys in Aus have done by Googling it.

I think it would only be worthwhile if you can find a local write off that you can use as a donar, if your importing parts it would be too much.

I bought my stage 4 T56 Magnum from Tick performance for my s/charged VY SS Ute, I did price one from Malwood but Tick do upgraded versions of the T56 Magnum. You get a Strange billit propshaft yoke that comes with the box too. Import duty is a bit of a killer, your price at 4k will be plus shipping and import duty. Mine arrived and I thought i'd got away without paying duty, 3 months later a bill arrived.
