Got a lot of play in the steering rack (2000 GTS) causing drifting sensation. Does anyone know if I can take the play up or do I have to replace the whole unit? Cheers guys.
If your lucky, it might just be loose. I had some fairly loud cracking sounds when turning the wheels at low speed (parking). Tightened the rack, which was starting to get loose, problem solved.

its bolted on nice and tight the play seems to be more on the off side too,the track rod ends are good so its off with the rack i guess for a closer look.
