I just had the car checked out at AAS in Newcastle as I was having a few issues since buying it 7 months ago and it isn't a great story to be honest, but such is life and at least I know what is required to sort it out.

I had some issues dealt with new engine oil, diff oil and gearbox oil, they also changed the brake fluid and flushed and replaced the steering fluid, as well as some other small bits and pieces.

Now for the good bits a number of control arm bushes need replacing but the biggest issue is the rear sub frame bushes are separated and the sub frame is also corroded. AAS are sourcing these parts ( not sub frame ) for me but unfortunately due to volume of work can't carry out the repairs until the middle of next year, so I need to find some one capable of carrying out the work. AAS also suggested that when the bushes on the rear sub frame are replaced it would be a good idea to blast and coat the sub frame it at the same time. When I discussed this with a local garage I have used for a number of years their biggest concern was the time the car would be sat on one of their ramps while the sub frame was sent away for coating. Question is it possible to buy another sub frame and have it ready to fit and then sell mine later? is this feasible? how easy is it to get hold of a sub frame? Is there a garage anyone can suggest to carry out the work? don't mind traveling ( based in the north east ) if it means dealing with experienced Monaro garages.

There are other non urgent issues that need addressing and I intend to use AAS next year for these

This isn't meant to be a sob story, always new the risks of buying a 14 year old car, and I intend to sort everything so the car can be enjoyed, just looking
for some advice as I know you guys have a lot of knowledge and might save me a lot of time.

Once again thanks in advance for any advice / suggestions

Don't forget when the replacement subframe goes on you should use an alignment tool to get it back into the correct position.
You will also need to get a four wheel alignment to finish the job off.
I think Walkinshaw performance will probably have a subframe alignment tool so it will be worth a phone call to find out.
Having said all that Im not too sure if the subframe can be aligned correctly without the proper tool? hopefully someone will post up the answer.

Buy subframe, get it coated etc, then swap it out. No point changing the part twice
