Hi, I'm new to HSV's ( & this site ), my question is; where do I get a paint able rear garnish panel to replace the dated red rear infill that surrounds the number plate on a VT model ?
Dose the Holden Commodore VX SS model have a plain panel in this area or dose anyone do an aftermarket piece ?

Any advice would be welcome.

regards Ian.

Hey there Ian,
Yeah, the VX SS doesn't have the reflector like the VT SS. I actually quite like the rear reflector. If you wanted we could test it with mine, I'm in Portsmouth.

Cheers

Hi 009,

I thought about doing the same thing once. The problem I found was that to replace the rear boot garnish on the VT would mean that I'd loose the reverse & fog lights. This means that you'd also have to replace the light clusters with the Monaro ones in order to retain these features and that required new harnesses. It looks drop-dead gorgeous once complete, but the cost outweighs the gains. I have however seen a solid boot garnish with integrated reversing lights.

A couple of places that might be able to help you:

Great info guys, 009 is my uk build No., Paul has added my details today, however i need to add more to the cars profile.
I am happy to play around with the cars cosmetics and lighting providing it is reversable back to std. Looking at the Au ebay link it looks like i could use a Morano garnish, as i'd like to add the black Morano lights!
Maybe see you guys at the Derby meet ?

regards Ian.
