Father in law was informed that after midnight on Friday he could not place an order for a new L405.

25th October is the date for the info on the new one.

Parents have just got their build slot in November for a new L405 SVA after putting the order in a few months back

At the same time they also got the invite for a preview of the new car next month. I’m guessing by the defender timescale it means that the new model will be 6-8 months after that.

They’re happy with going for the last of the old model, the first year of a new JLR product is usually worth treating with suspicion hehe

I’ve a good friend who has one of the first new shape Discoveries when the were launched...it was ultimately swapped for another about 6 months after launch given the poor build quality/inability to fix the repetitive problems. I’d agree with others that new models can be a bit hit & miss.

To be honest I think JLR products tend to be best once they’ve had a mid-life facelift. The ones I’ve had towards the end of the life cycle have been infinitely better than the ones that are within a couple of years of initial release.

Yes agreed - all my cars have been post facelift.

No issues (yet) with my Discovery Sport 2015.

I'm not sure I'd immediately spot it as a new model if it wasn't for the rear end.

Don't those door handles freeze shut in the winter and indicate when you've forgotten to lock it.

The front looks reassuringly similar, but I do like the new rear. Shame the interior touch screen isn't flushed into the dash.

The white one looks like an early mock up. Normal door handles and side vents.

Really? I’ve got a deposit on one but must admit I didn’t plan on spending that much.

Deposit? How much? Dealers are not meant to be taking any money on these till next week! I have no deposit down but am assured an early car.

I've now heard you can get an autobiography specced for low £130k but realistically I suspect £130/£140k mark.

Looks like it's put on a few pounds over lockdown.
Going to massive to drive round town or narrow country roads.
