Santa Pod hasa few RWYB dates. Late september could work for me possibly.

What about Avon Park raceway ? Ive never been there before. Do they do RWYB days often ?

Melbourne/York isnt too bad either. A bit closer than Santa Pod, although Id prefer Santa Pod, even if it is nearly 400 miles away from me.

Would be nice if someone came over here and built me a dragstrip :-)

Small question - what does wet tyres do to the rollers?

No affect on DD Rollers as they are grooved, also DD have excellent tying down design with a parallegram "traction control". Wet tyres may induce wheelspin on lesser dynos.

In theory that sounds good - what experience do you have in practice?

Wet tyres on DDR would'nt stay wet for very long anyway..

I can confirm my tyres stayed wet enough to leave wet track marks on the floor on exiting the dyno cell - is that wet enough?

Experience in practise in England is that it rains every other day. The same car on wet or dry tyres has produced results within acceptible tolerance

Jagsy, I know you want to think your dyno reading should have been higher but you're grasping at straws, just leave it man, walk away....LOL!

No worries Lusifer, you know me just curious. Being that sort of person I am keen to learn about these things. To that I will get another dyno done and compare these results for further curiosity.

Anyway, as mentioned somewhere else, they are only figures, its what its like on the road and I know what thats like, even with 5 adults in the car LOL

Come on Jagsy, you don't really qualify as an adult. LOL. And stop wearing that hoody, it doesn't suit you.

On this topic....

Just been on another Dyno (MAHA 3000 @ Powerstation Twekesbury) with DIN HP corrections. (RR type)
It returned 420 BHP = 310KW DIN for my HSV GTS 300.

This compares exactly with what WRC-TECH's Dyno-Dynamics Dyno produced: (for the arithmetic lovers see below

Dyno Dynamics:
406 HP (Aus) = 303KW (AUS)
Australian KW is 2.33333% more than DIN KW (i.e. Aussies are more pessimistic).
therefore: DD reading in DIN KW =
303 x 1.02333 = 310 KW DIN

Exactly equal to the MAHA 3000.

Soon I'll get it onto a HUB system and see what the differences are before I start playing: Any suggestions as to anyone with a HUB system near Gloucester?

Note: the powerstation RR dyno was abit more of a saga as we had to have two people in the boot to stop the car wheelspinning on the dyno in fourth and fifth.

The main difference was that MAHA was run in 5th due to wheelspin on the rollers and the DD was run in 4th.

Note: look out for a Red 1990's civic running around this area......it has a turbo'ed Mugen engine in it and stuck out 335 HP DIN. IF it gets traction that should be entertaining!!!!

I could scan and post the graphs soon if anyone is interested???

Again, the Dyno operators were fascinated by the fact that the GTS does not have a power curve....more like a straight line that is only halted by the rev limiter....interesting!!!

Cheers, Eric
