Anyone else here a biker as well as a Monaro head?

Sold my R1150GS (silver/black seat) just after the R1200GS came out, as it was still worth good money & I was worried that the 1200 would speed up the depreciation. Bought a Smart with the money, which is nearly as easy to park & gets a lot more use, great fun to drive as well, just ask V8HSV!
Started with a 50cc at sixteen & then had various Yams inc. LCs. Slowed down in my 20's due to a few mates having fatal crashes, so got a classic Matchless.
Had a few years off, then got a 650 Aprillia followed by the BMW.
Never, ever thought I'd go for a BMW, but the GS was brilliant. Will probably get a 1200 one day.
Still ride mates bikes, but get adequate speed thrills from the HSV. Nowt like a fast bike, but I'm too tall for most sport bikes & I still don't trust myself not to be silly on one, hence the 1150 which wasn't much fun over 80mph anyway.

Hi Tom
Sad to say i'm not a Monaro owner either, just been a huge fan since seeing them 'down under' a few years back when they first came out. I was ecstatic when it was revealed they were coming here. How I envy you blokes.
Anyway..bikes. I was a London despatch rider for four years in the '80s. Rode mainly mid rangers, but finished on a GSX1100EF.Now got a GPZ600,which I was riding when I pulled alongside a black 04 Monaro convert here in Hants. about three weeks ago.He had just collected it that day. Had I been in a car I wouldn't have caught him due to traffic.I told him about the Forum but I don't think i've seen him on here so far. Saw him in it again last week giving it some stick on a local dual carriageway, as ya do!
I also use the bike to great effect getting in and out of Goodwood every year. Traffic problem.. what's that? Up the outside, past Ferraris,Porsches,Mercs etc., front of the queue, no worries.
Even see the same local copper at the roundabout who let's me go " as soon as there's a gap". Great stuff.
Was it you, or a mate who wanted a pic of ex Talacrest car V***HGS or W***CBL?

Hi qldmick, Glad you survived despatching in London!!!
I got my first HSV from from Talacrest but it's someone else who wanted the pics. Remember reading the thread, but can't remember who it was. Hopefully they will read this.
Do miss not having a bike, but not as much as I thought I would.
