I thought i would leave it a week before posting my experiences of the latest mods to my CV8.

Went down to Monkfish last Saturday and had the Wortec CAT back exhaust and remap. The guys (Roger & Andy) at Monkfish did a great job, and they know alot about these cars and work with great enthusiasm. The job took a few hours and I was on my way back to the frozen north.

The car sounds much more V8ty (if you know what I mean)a nice deep rumble at low speeds and downright angry when loaded above 3k revs,

With the remap you can feel the difference in throttle response :smokin: (as others have reported).
I have even noticed a 2 mpg improvement in fuel consumption at high motorway speeds.

To top it off I had the plastic engine cover replaced so it now looks like an engine.

When I can find the time the guys are going to fit me a Ripshifter, (will report on this later). If you havnt driven a car with one fitted you dont know what you are missing.

Anyway to say I am pleased is an understatement, :D thanks Paul (Wortec) Andy & Roger (Monkfish), I will see you soon for the next installment.

around £500 or so.

I am in Staffordshire so the nearest people to me who could fit the exhaust ripshifter etc are Monkfish. My understanding is that there are only 2 main dealers and Monkfish (independent)who work with Wortec.

There are other TV listing magazines on sale.... oops sorry wrong disclaimer

Ripshift is £590 fitted. Have a demo car if u wanted to drive one first as well as one with suspension and brakes on, i know its a long way, but would be happy to provide Monaro courtesy car whilst any work done.

Thoroughly recommend ripshifter. I have an 05 Monaro loan car without it at the moment (whilst mine is enhanced a bit more!) and I cannot believe the difference(I had one recently fitted)its like stirring Mississippi mud pie with a wooden spoon.

Go for it.

Thanks for the positive replies guys!

Gotta admit the distance is a real pain! Im right out of it up here! (oh well makes even me more exclusive!)

But yes, id certainly like to try a ripshifter sometime! Ive heard so much good about them im almost sure i need this mod.... well, that suspension & brakes would be perfect!

Hmmm and heres me thinking all i wanted was a monaro with a big exhaust only a few months ago!
