I expect to get shot down in flames for this one - imagine wanting a better stereo when I've got the engine to listen to :-) Anyone replaced the standard 6 disc changer with an mp3 capable player? Has anyone found a unit that will fit straight into the existing dash or a mounting kit to fit a standard unit? Or is and Ipod and fm kit the answer?

I got a JVC DVD MP3 player, and put in a 7" screen as well. Have a look through some of the previous posts, put some photos up somewhere.

any idea how far back this was? I've had a quick look as far back as June - was it earlier or am I just going blind?

Can confirm that Raggyman's installation looks very professional, the pics. don't really do it justice.

Well I've installed 3 DVD players, one for dedicated Sat-Nav & 10 disc rack, both in the boot plus the head unit is a DVD player. 3 colour 7" touch screen displays, 250w active centre spk for 5.1 sound, 250w active sub bass, all though a 1000w power amp. RF headphones for passengers too.

Not loud but minimal distortion, when the car is at full tilt with the 'stereo up' you cannot hear a trace of the engine, exhaust or wind noise.

Basically I can have sat-nav running with voice commands, listen to music & let rear occupants enjoy a movie via headphones.

With a few xtras the install cost £10k, all top of range Kenwood kit, did it nearly 3 yrs ago, if I did it today it would be a lot, lot less.
