New Monaro Owner Needs Advice on Tyres

The guys at micheldever almost refused to fit the 255/40/18's because of the effect it would have had on gearing. Not sure exactly what that means but I took their advice in the end.

The effect on gearing is so small, you would hardly notice it.

At absolute most, about 2% increase.

Updating the PCM with your new tyres is pretty simple. I just did mine as the HSV PCM still had the 17" stock calibration. So Id go ahead and buy what you like maybe just ask your tuner to update the config next time you get a performance upgrade

Thats my point, you wont notice any difference..

Although if you owned a 1.0 Corsa, and put 17's on it instead of 13's or whatever they come with, you would notice a difference. In both performance, and speedo readings being vastly different to what they were.

I'm on 255/40/18 as fitted by Mitcheldever Tyres, yes speedo out but always rely on RA2 for accuarcy.
