Taken from my Home Town Radio Station On the Central Coast of NSW in Australia,
2GO FM
www.2gofm.com/main/index.php

It was Titled, "DUMB DRIVERS"

A KARIONG man will be walking for a while after being clocked at 194 kays an hour (about 117MPH)last night on the F3 near the Mooney Mooney Bridge. Also last night, a 28 year old man from UMINA BEACH was charged with mid range drink driving after crashing his car into the guard rail near Penang St.

117MPH is nothing over here, I think a lot of people drive that fast. Not anyone from this Forum though hay

Listen to the Station from the 2GO Live Stream, you will A bit different from the Radio over here especially the Adds. I love it !

Regards,
Rob.

Also on the News,

A man that Kill an intruder, who had broken into his house & tied both him & his Girlfriend up, will NOT be charged for the Killing as he was defending his home & family.

Great stuff, that's what I love about Australia.

God 194kph is nothing... that is like a leasurely pace for me now. Back home though it is a different story, cause if I get pulled up, my license points matter. Might actually get a UK license before I go back home.

yeah this cracks me up as well

always on channel 7 Today Tonight Programme

"P plate driver caught on western ring road, doing 170kph" yawwwwnnn

I always think, at least he/she is ding it in a much safer car than an old crappy VB Commodore or something lol.

They just demonising speed here in Australia, yet we all love it, look at teh car culture here, its a national tradition to have a great stonking V8 as your halo car! God bless em, dumb as stumps but we love ya's ya bogans!

Goddammit. Today Tonight is the worst kind of trashy, sensationalist, gutter-"journalism" Ive ever seen. That show is reason enough to leave the place I reckon!
Speaking of points - Hooray for no "Double Demerits" weekends over here!! For the english folk, Aussie police make all traffic offences count for double their normal points during holiday periods. This madness once lead me to lose 20 points in axactly 50 minutes a few Christmases ago. 169kmh/12 points the first time, 142kmh/8 points less than hour later the second, on the way to Dunsborough from Perth. And they accrue. So when I got my new license after 3 months on the bus, it only had 4 left on it to last me 3 years!!
BTW, can anyone recomend a good traffic lawyer here? Damn motorbikes....

Oh dear, that sounds painful.

When you took out your car insurance, did you take the legal protection cover, they may be able to help out, that's what you pay them for

No no, its not what you think. Got nailed (by a brightly coloured, marked, 5-series wagon ) doing 92 in a 70 zone on a Suzuki Hayabusa. I spose it could have been worse...

Just heard on the 2GO news Australia,

That a Girl learner driver was pulled up in Melbourne, doing 160kph (100mph) Think the licenced passenger was also booked

There is a site you can actually watch ABC Asia Pacific online which is pretty cool. Last time I was there though the video and audio were out of sync. Simple reboot of their server should fix that.
