Hi there
I've just bought a new SS ute to tow the race car, will I have to do computer mods to maximize a LS6 head swap.
I have spare LS6 heads along with a 228 cam and comp 918 springs.
I'm picking it up tommorrow and am kind of happy with the performance, but its no biggie swapping over the heads, however,I don't want to spend a fortune on computer configuration.
Appoligise if its a no brainer, but PH is my first port of call.
Is it worth bothering,thoughts please..

You will need to re-map the engine whatever mods you do. This isn't very expensive. Indeed, a re-map, with some bolt ons if required, depending on how much power you want, will be more cost effective than swapping cams and heads etc.

I would offer to do it for you, but i note that you a 12000 miles away!!! So maybe not.

Plenty of good advice and sponsors who can do the work on www.ls1.com.au

Hope this helps.

Thanks Monkfish
I'm aware a remap should awake possibly up to 300 kw's,I just thought, since I have it hanging around it may be worth it.
What do you think is possible with a remap, head as explained ported tb, (2004 vette)and 3" straight through,no cats and flowmaster.(existing headers)
